T.R. Milne's passion for writing started in her early childhood where she grew up on a farm in Australia. Her imagination grew wild in the open spaces. As she grew older, and experienced the ups and downs in life, she discovered that love was like a patchwork quilt and needs to be stitched together with courage, friendship and persistance. Thanks to these experiences, she is now able to tap into her imagination and thread her books with these empowering themes.
After leaving school, T.R. Milne completed a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Asian Studies and later a Postgraduate Degree in Organisational Communication. She enjoys applying her passion for communication and helping others in her work as a Change and Internal Communication Specialist, who helps organisations and their people through change.
T.R. Milne started writing about twelve years ago, when her first child was still a baby. Since then, in between working part-time and parenting a brood of scrumptious children, she has writing, reading and learning about writing.
She has completed numerous writing courses, including the Online Writing YA and Children's Fiction writing course at Curtis Brown Creative UK and a year-long children's writing course with Nicolas Brasch. She has also had a year-long writing mentorship with Author, Nike Bourke, and is an active member of SCBWI, the Australian Society of Authors and Writers Victoria.
T.R. Milne is passionate about helping children, tweens and teens discover the joy of reading and she loves visiting schools to get students excited about books. She teaches creative writing and runs sessions on creativity and the writing process. She often writes about these experiences in her blog.
