Tanya's passion for writing started in her early childhood where she grew up on a farm in Australia. Her imagination grew wild in the open spaces. As she grew older and experienced the ups and downs of life, she discovered that love was like a patchwork quilt and needs to be stitched together with courage, friendship and persistence. Thanks to these experiences, she's now able to tap into her imagination and thread her books with these empowering themes.
After leaving school, Tanya completed a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Asian Studies and later a Postgraduate Degree in Organisational Communication. She enjoys applying her passion for communication and helping others in her work as a Change and Internal Communication Specialist, helping organisations and their people experiencing change.
Tanya started writing over a decade ago, when her first child was still a baby. Since then, in between working part-time and parenting, she has been learning the craft of writing. She's completed numerous writing courses, including the selective Online Writing YA and Children's Fiction writing course at Curtis Brown Creative UK and a year-long children's writing course with Nicolas Brasch. She's also done mentorships, appraisals and has developed work at Varuna, Glenfern Writer's Studios and Abbotsford Convent.
She's completed a number of children’s books, including four picture books, a chapter book and YA novel and a women's fiction manuscript that's she's trying to find a publishing home for.
